I'm looking for communicable students who would always inform me about their concerns before the lesson and leave me some time to prepare a quality explanation for them. I always encourage students to ask questions throughout the whole lesson and not to be afraid of not understanding something because I believe that it is just a stage of learning. The structure of the lesson depends on student's needs but I usually try to start with the theory part and then go to the examples.
In high school, teachers and extracurricular activities gave me a passion for science. I wanted to spread this passion, therefore, four years ago I started tutoring pupils. In the beginning, I was volunteering in my school while giving personal physics lessons to younger students who had no interest in the subject and couldn't pass the classes. After my tutoring, they were getting grades which were more than just enough to pass.
After a half year of tutoring, I was invited to work as a mathematics teacher in an extracurricular school for kids of age 7-12. One year of working with kids taught me a lot about how sensitive a teacher should be to each student and how should one lead a lesson.
As I was always passioned about astronomy, I created an astronomy club in my city where I was teaching students of my age. After nearly a year of such teaching, me and one of my students were selected to represent our country in International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) because of our great achievements in national contests.
Tutoring became my style of life so even during the final year of high school, I decided to give mathematics tutorials for younger IBDP students so that while preparing for their lessons I could revise for my exams. They usually asked me to solve questions that they couldn't understand and I always tried to show a few ways of solving them rather than just believing that my prefered method is the most understandable for everyone. In the end, they said that my lessons helped them to take off the pressure before tests.
