I would be happy to teach GCSE and Alevel students. My teaching methods are based off of my recent experience of being a student. This includes a good knowledge of exam preparation and technique. I aim to build the students confidence by reviewing content, assisting with practice questions and going through past papers. Ensuring they understand how to interpret the question and how to communicate the answer effectively.
I am a physics and astronomy student in my second year at Cardiff University and have completed Alevel maths and physics. I have previously tutored a small group of students in college and am excited to gain more experience teaching, as I find it very rewarding.

I am a twenty year old student studying a Physics and Astronomy degree at Cardiff University. I enjoy taking part in activities outside of education and learning new skills. I am hard working, enthusiastic and ambitious. I enjoy working with people but I can also be a leader of a team.
Whilst at college I gave informal tutoring to several physics students in the year below me. This was mainly with exam preparation and allowed me to develop some teaching skills and techniques.
I have worked as a sales assistant at Next PLC during summer 2018 and 2019. This gave me the opportunity to experience working in retail. During this time I had varied responsibilities including working in the stockroom and on the shop floor. This allowed me to add to my customer service knowledge.
I have worked part time waitressing at Nicolino’s Restaurant from March 2016 to September 2017. This has improved my customer service skills and also helped me learn how to work effectively under pressure during busy hours. Additionally it has improved my communication as I was working with both kitchen and serving staff. I found this job very rewarding as many customers commented on the good quality of food and service.
In the summer of 2015 I worked at Capita IT PLC, this gave me an idea of what it was like to work alongside a team of people. It has taught me a lot about expected behaviours in a business environment. The fact that I decided to try to get work experience at a large company like this shows that I am ambitious. While I was at Capita I worked in several different departments allowing me to learn a variety of skills in a very short period of time, which would be useful when starting to work in a new environment.
I studied my GCSEs at Chichester High School for Girls and achieved the following grades:
I then studied at South Downs College where I achieved the following A levels:
I then studied at Cardiff University to complete a foundation year in engineering and my first year of physics and astronomy.
Outside of college I went to Dynamo Youth Theatre. I enjoy drama as it gives me a way to express myself. I was a member for five years and have been able to take part in several productions, concerts and competitions. I even got to perform at the Kings Theatre, Southsea in front of many members of the public.
Previously I was a part of Chichester High School Combined Cadet Force where I became a Lance Corporal. This gave me the chance to pilot a glider (completing my gliding induction course) and to perform basic aerobatics. I have been on several shooting ranges and taken part in multiple camps.
I have also achieved my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, for this I was a volunteer at Rainbows, Girl guiding for 3 months where I planned and ran various activities for 4-6year olds. For my physical section I have completed a course of yoga classes for 6 months as well completing an expedition in March 2014
In my spare time I also enjoy practising taekwondo (I am currently a blue belt) and doing yoga.
Over the summer 2016 I took part in NCS the National Citizenship Service program which involved a camp where I did physically challenging activities such as climbing and a camp at university where I learnt about business and budgeting. I also spent 2weeks organising fundraising events to raise money and awareness for Stone Pillow which is a local homeless charity. My team managed to raise over £600 and spent 2days volunteering at the charity.
I have learnt a lot of new skills from taking part in out of education activities. By being part of a youth theatre I have improved my self-esteem and am now confident in talking in front of other people, this will be an advantage in a job because it helps me be able to communicate with customers well. Being part of a youth theatre also meant that I had to do a lot of promotion events, this included interacting with the public. During this time I also wrote and directed my own short piece for a company competition which has significantly improved my leadership qualities.
Being part of cadets has also taught me perseverance and discipline this would be useful for long hours as it has improved my focus.
By being a leader at rainbows I have also had to get used to having a lot of responsibility because parents trusted me to look after their children, this shows that if given a deadline I can be relied on to get the job done and can be trusted with important task. It also shows that I can act responsibly when representing a brand or company.
By being a prefect I have also developed my leadership skills and I have the position of role model for younger student’s behaviour and appearance. My taekwondo classes have encouraged me to be committed which leads me to be determined to accomplish goals set for me day-to-day.
While doing NCS I was part of the communications team, this role entailed organising meetings with the local council, writing letters and emails to newspaper and radio companies for advertising, and interacting with the public to raise awareness for the charity. This opportunity gave me a lot of organisational skills and show that I can meet deadlines effectively.
