I always like to start with a warm-up, so the brain and the fingers get ready for the lesson! After that, depending on the goal and age of the student I will make a plan for the lesson.
I like to do a bit of singing with children, as well as some short aural exercises (no more than 5 minutes) to get them started off. With someone preparing for an exam or a concert, I would make a long term plan, in order to organize the repertoire and make sure everything is in place for the big day. For someone learning piano simply for fun we would get together and choose some personal favourite pieces with various tehniques, so that apart from enjoying their favourite music, they develop the skills to work on a wide range of pieces on their own later on.
Student pianist from the Royal Academy of Music offering piano and music theory/solfege lessons in London. Winner of several international competitions, active soloist and chamber music performer - I can help with exams and concerts, as well as simply starting to play piano from scratch and pursuing your passion in a fun way. I have taught both children and adults and my goal is to see progress accompanied by self-satisfaction. Summer masterclasses have been an important part of my life, showing me a variety of teaching methods and proving that each player is different and reacts differently. Therefore I will do my best to adjust to the student’s needs and make sure that the joy of playing the piano is always present during the lessons.

Perfect! Kira is very thorough and attentive with her teaching. I have learnt a lot and my fingers have become a lot stronger from all the new exercises she has introduced me to.
Very enthusiastic and ambitious, I look forward to our next lesson :D
