My goal is to introduce piano to children and adults willing to learn, help them achieve their goals and enjoy themselves along the way.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical piano.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied at the world famous Royal College of Music in London and obtained a Bachelor of Music with Honours degree in classical piano. As a part of my course I was also taught the art of teaching and have been introducing people, young and mature alike, to the joys of piano ever since.
- How much do you charge?
I charge 25 pounds per hour and normally hold weekly lessons. When I teach very young children ( 5-7), the lessons are half an hour and cost 15 pounds.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my home in the Park area of Nottingham.
- When are you available?
I am available seven days a week and quite flexible. Lesson times can be changed or resheduled, given at least 48 hours notice.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels. My youngest pupil is 5 and my most mature 77! I focus on each individual's specific needs, developing their area of strength and addressing their issues in a custom made approach.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I regularly prepare students for ABRSM exams and have a 100% succes rate, with all of my pupils receiving either Distinction or Merit. I am experienced in preparing all levels (1 to 8) and have also coached students for auditions to enter Music Conservatoires.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I teach in a relaxed, friendly manner and work to bring the best out of every student.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have years of experience teaching piano, from complete beginners to advanced musicians.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I am in the process of getting the CRB.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students are a wonderful and inspirational mix of children and adults who are preparing for their ABRSM or Music GCSE/A Levels exams, and amateur piano enthusiasts who want to learn piano for fun.
