- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Piano at all levels, from beginners to advanced, in a variety of styles including Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, 20th Century, Contemporary, Jazz, and Improvisation.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Masters with Distinction in Contemporary Music performance from The University of Huddersfield, and Upper Second Class BMus (Hons) degree in Music from the University of Huddersfield.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 per hour, or £15 per half an hour.
- Where do you teach?
I teach in Claremount, Halifax, in a large room equipped with Yamaha U1 piano, Korg SV-1 keyboard, Drum kit, Bongos and Congas, PA System, and recording equipment. I also teach at Vibrations Studios in Lockwood, Huddersfield, equipped with Upright Piano, Drum Kit, PA System, and recording equipment. I do have transport however, so lessons can be arranged anywhere in the Halifax and Huddersfield areas.
- When are you available?
I teach most evenings and weekends, and have a busy schedule but will do my best to find times to suit.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach at all ages and levels. I am also happy to teach adult beginners, as well as intermediate/advanced pianists looking to expand their knowledge.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for entry in ABRSM exams (inc Jazz, and Theory) and Trinity Rock and Pop exams. Alternative exam boards can be discussed.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over seven years teaching experience in private tutoring. This includes one-to-one lessons and small groups, as well as experience with large groups in workshops and classrooms in junior and high schools. My experiences also include those of a professional performing musician, in a variety of groups and solo work.

I do have an up-to-date DBS certificate
- Where and with whom did you train?
I began learning music at the age of 6, and have had piano lessons every week since. During my degree I studied with Sally-Ann McLeod, of the RNCM, and my Masters degree enabled me to study with Dr Philip Thomas, Senior Lecturer of Music and Head of Performance and the University of Huddersfield.
