About the lesson
Over the years, I was taught that if you do well in school then you will have the best chance to get a good job and earn a substantial amount of money. This is partially true. However, how many A's you achieve in school, does not necessarily equate to the amount of money you make in the future.
Many of us will go through ups and downs, especially throughout our time in education; consequently, school should be about learning and acquiring knowledge, not just how to pass an exam.
I would prefer to deter from this traditional belief and instil in young students that the type of person you are such as, the amount of willingness and determination you have, is what helps to achieve their aims and goals in life.
I, therefore, hope to teach and nurture students on how to harness important skills (needed for real-life situations) such as; developing a high proficiency in English, learning the importance of politics and governmental power and lastly, to create an environment that is best for them to study independently.
- Adult education
I have a very successful background in tutoring, leadership and guidance roles. This includes:
Approaching my second year of tutoring students aged from 7-16. Ranging from different levels of schooling, such as primary to A-levels.
My participation on my secondary school council board, which lasted the entirety of my high school years (Years 7-11).
During my time at college, I stood as Student Governor, where I sat on a private governing board, advocating on behalf of 2000 students.
I was Vice-president of the African- Caribbean Society (ACS), at my university.
I am experienced, encouraging and unprejudiced and I have the assurance that I will bring my enthusiasm and leadership skills, to improve the quality of my students’ welfare and education.
I've worked with Chloe in the past as she voluntarily assisted me in my role as the president of BLW society university of east anglia. Based on this experience, I would definitely recommend her as a tutor. She is a pragmatic individual and has excellent communication skills. Chloe is patient, empathetic and thoughtful when working with people. She was always very positive and encouraging. As a result, Chloe was always a joy to work with and was adored by everyone in the society.
Chloe is full of energy and will push you to learn and achieve the best you can. She is able to adapt to the style of learning you need and has the patience needed for this role. Chloe has had 2 years worth of tutoring experience and is dedicated to her work.
