Learning an instrument is amazing for your life both as a hobby and a career! I encourage a a fun approach which trains your ear, so you can play and write music both with and without written music.

Disability Challengers Ltd.
8th December 2018 - 10th August 2020
Disability Challengers is a charity that runs play/youth schemes, operating on weekends and during the school holidays. Until recently I was a play/youth worker, a role which involved supporting the young people on a 1:1 basis. In turn some of the responsibilities of the role include supporting the young people so that they enjoy the play and leisure services that Challengers offers, maintaining the security and cleanliness of the venue, completing staff training in areas such as personal care, behaviour support and moving people as well as maintaining a high standard of safeguarding protocol. I have left challengers only due to my move to London and have gained a lot of valuable experience during my time there.
Reigate College (Music technology and performance summer school)
28th July 2019 - Present
The Reigate College summer school allows post-GCSE students to produce and record a single in a week In addition to developing their instrumental technique and playing in groups. My role as an assistant involved recording instruments played by the students in the college studios, making creative suggestions regarding the parts and showing them how to use various elements of music production software. In addition to this I taught individual lessons to the drummers and pianists which helped them to improve their performance abilities and general musicianship. I hope to return to the summer school in the subsequent years especially as this years summer school was cancelled as a result of Covid-19.

I enjoy creating a fun atmosphere for the young people at InterAKtive and will continue to enjoy my time spent there.

As a classically trained pianist, I was looking for someone to help teach me the fundamentals of jazz piano. When I found Tom, he stripped everything back to a level that was easy to manage and we progressed from the basics to the more complex jazz improvisation all at my own pace. From my lessons with Tom I have progressed with my contemporary piano playing and feel more confident with improvising in the jazz style
