In terms of teaching, my approach is conversational, rather than formal. I want a student to understand the material they are studying in a critical fashion rather than studying for marks. As such, questioning is encouraged for deeper engagement - good marks will follow suit.
For those in secondary school, I will track the National Curriculum, focusing on those topics that you feel less certain on. That said, I will encourage broader further reading.
For those at university, I will also include essay writing guidance.
My academic background is in political philosophy and the history of political thought. I hold:
- 2:1 in Philosophy and Politics from the University of York (BA)
- Distinction in Political Theory from the LSE (MSc)
- Am studying for an MA in History of Political Thought at UCL
I am offering this as a service, so payment is discretionary - if you can't afford to pay, don't worry - I will tutor free of charge.
