Who am I?
I am currently studying Primary Education with English and have taught many classes at Primary Level as well as at KS3.
Who can I tutor?
Although I am more experienced in teaching KS1-KS3, I also completed GCSE English Literature and Language, as well as A Level Literature and Language whilst tutoring other students. I am well equipped and confident to teach a range of ages and subjects within the English Spectrum!
My Teaching Beliefs!
I believe that the best way to learn English is to have fun doing so! In tutoring, I would develop a fun and interactive plan which not only suits the purpose of the tutoring but it perfectly styled to the interests of the pupil so that maximum engagement can be achieved! I love teaching, and always want my passion for English to be reflected in my pupils!
Due to a lack of transport facilities I am unable to travel outside of the Reading area.
How long have I been giving lessons?
I have been professionally teaching for the past two years now, helping with Phonics Screenings and KS1 Sats. However, my teaching background is not limited to this! I have also taught classes as well as tutored external to University Setting.
Who have I tutored?
I have previously tutored two pupils in English, one in the literature side and one in the language. We met once a week, and I created a plan which involved their interests and needs to perfectly suit them! I also ran a creative writing class for a year, where I taught 20 pupils weekly, creating fun and interactive sessions on creative writing and a variety of language and literature practices.
A Level: B
Currently obtaining a degree in Primary Education with English at University (Undergraduate).
Currently working towards a TEFL qualification.
Placements: I have completed two placements in a Primary school setting, due to complete a third in April, May and June 2018. This is where I support the class, plan and teach lessons in English, Maths, Science, History, Art, Music, PE and others, as well as mark work, attend staff meetings and contribute towards the wider life of the school. Whilst on these placements I also tutored lower attaining pupils in English, especially English language, as well as running reading groups for a range of abilities.
Creative Writing Club: I ran a creative writing club for one year whilst at sixth form for younger students. This included planning sessions and supporting them in their development. We worked on a school newspaper, script writing, story writing, competitions and opinionated articles to name a few as well as a monthly book club to promote reading and the enjoyment of English and Literature.
Tutoring: I have tutored two pupils in English across two years whilst in Sixth Form. This included planning and delivering sessions which best suited the pupils needs, assessing their work and progress and responding to such to keep all tutoring relevant, interesting and conducive to the needs of the individual.
