SKILLS PROFILE
Team work:
• As part of my role on the London Olympic Pool Lifeguarding Team I have developed my teamworking skills to the highest standards. I am required to deal with high pressure first aid and rescue situations, many of which cannot be undertaken alone.
• I have also been involved in training and supporting new staff and interacting with a diverse set of people as part of bar and restaurant teams.

Communication and negotiating:
• Giving the safety talks to over 100 customers during inflatable pool sessions ensures I have communicated effectively to a diverse range of backgrounds. This included children, disabled individuals and those with limited English abilities.
• As part of the Model UN club in sixth form I have developed my diplomacy and negotiating abilities on a variety different topic many relating to sustainability and renewables, such as the feasibility of hydroelectric dams in the Amazon rainforest.
• In addition, undertaking philosophy modules has enabled me to construct far more concise and convincing arguments both written and verbal. This was achieved through essays, presentation and class debates.

Research skills:
• As part of year 1 I undertook a variety of group and solitary research projects. The depth and breadth of research allowed all projects to achieve high marks and secured my overall first year grade as a 2:1 of 68.
• In addition, I undertook an extra year long EPQ qualification in year 13 which required meticulous research skills. My research involved a high level of networking which resulted in me securing an interview with a North Korea migrant.
• For quantitative aspects of research, I have achieved an A during AS statistic so am very confident processing and analysing data sets.

POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILTIY
• School Council: as a member of my school council for 4 consecutive years I was involved constantly with listening and engaging with different groups to come to diplomatic solutions. I also tackled many decision-making projects such as our sustainable initiatives for example introducing composting the kitchen food waste for our school gardens.

• Science Ambassador: as a science ambassador for my school I was given the opportunity as part of a team to go into primary schools to educate and communicate scientific ideas like global climate change to much younger individuals. This developed my skills in creating more engaging and concise presentation to keep the young people’s attention.

• Lead Prefect: I acted as one of four lead prefects for my school I was required to listen and communicate with my entire cohort during assembly presentations.

• Senior Volunteer Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park: This introduced me first hand to many of the principles of conservation and sustainability as well as giving me a unique opportunity to communicate with wider community members about the topic.

INTERESTS AND OTHER INFORMATION
• I am attending a variety of societies at the university including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Art (life drawing), meditation and RAG. As well as this I regularly play guitar.
