I believe that if I can teach a child to teach themselves through my tuition it will allow them to access a greater level of independent learning. I will work to build on the child’s prior knowledge while identifying where the most help is needed to allow the children to learn in line with the National Curriculum
I am a primary school teacher with 4 years experiencing in tutoring both in Ireland and in the U.K. and have a background in working with children with learning difficulties. I have recently trained in Fresh Start which provides additional support to children who may have been left behind in the earlier years of their education so that they may progress and pass their SATs exams.

I worked as a free lance substitute teacher for over three years in various schools and environments while undertaking a professional masters degree in education. I worked as a class teacher in mainstream schools and a special education school, including disadvantaged areas. My duties included planning lessons for the school day based on the information the class teacher had left or sometimes planning from scratch for the day ahead based on the assessment data and previous learning. Throughout the school day, I undertook duties such as playground duty, meeting and greeting parents at the end of the school day, and marking the pupils’ work

In 2014, I qualified with a 2.3 degree in a Bachelor of Arts in Irish and Theology with Religious Studies which ran over the course of 4 years of full time university attendance. Coursework completed included both essays and in-class exams. I also worked as a full time secondary school teacher for the duration of my third year before completing my final year
dissertation in 2014.

I have in the past demonstrated that I have the drive to become an all- round team leader with a passion for success and results. I was part of the coaching staff in my local GAA club back in Ireland, coaching both boys and girls from ages 6-16, both local and county teams.
