I have an ever-growing passion towards trying to understand and help develop the minds of young individuals by teaching them to acquire new concepts, express themselves without inhibition and communicate with others at a young age. I believe in helping my students to achieve more than they think they can by setting appropriate goals that spur them into higher achievements.
My teaching philosophy has developed over the years. I think that by Understanding both the learning style of individual learners and the cultural diversity of the class/group helps me both design and tailor effective instruction by implementing appropriate global and/or concrete strategies.
I am patient and use multiple methods in order to support and help my students to progress.
I am a fully qualified Primary school teacher (5- 11 years old) and am in my 8th teaching year having qualified in the UK. I taught for 4 years in the UK before moving to the UAE as I am intrigued in other cultures and love to travel. Currently, I am in my 4th year working for the Abu Dhabi Education council. This has given me great experience working with EAL children.

Education
Sept 2008- July 2009: PGCert in Primary Education (5-11 Yrs.)
Brunel University (UK)
This course enabled me to develop a critical understanding of issues and theories that impact upon classroom practice in teaching, learning and assessment in schools. I learnt to explore and critically reflect on my own and others practice in relation to national and regional priorities and policies and current research relevant to Primary Education. I was also taught practical teaching skills and subject knowledge for teaching across the primary years, making links with relevant theory to inform practice.
Sept 2005- July 2008: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Humanities with Literature
The Open University (UK)
During my degree I gained knowledge of literature and language for literature this included a number of authors and texts from different historical periods. I gained knowledge and understanding of the distinctive character of texts written in the principal literary genres, fiction, poetry and drama, and of other kinds of writing and communication. It taught me to effectively communicate and argue in both written and oral form, as well as the ability to analyse and critically examine diverse forms of communication. I had to plan, negotiate and carry out individual and group projects and presentations and to do so to deadlines. It developed my capacity for independent thought, reflection and judgement. My research skills were further developed, including the ability to gather, sift and organise quantities of diverse material and evaluate its significance.

Other Experience
Teaching Assistant work-
Sept 2007-July 2008: Paid work- Oliver Goldsmith Primary School, North West London.
I worked here for a year in order to gain experience in a Non-Denominational school before starting my PGCE. I worked in close collaboration with the class teacher to support for low achieving boys in the class. I had to put up displays and support the teacher in whatever way she required. I supervised groups on trips and took part in theme days and helped with the organisation of assemblies.
Jan 2007- July 2007: Islamia Primary School in London, UK
I volunteered to work as a Teaching Assistant to help the children deal with the amalgamation of both schools. I wanted to help minimise the effect on the children’s learning and make it a smooth transition. I worked in a year 2 Class supporting the class teacher in whole class, group and individual work. I organised Homework, displays, listening to the children read. I would bring the children in and take the register
Jan 2006- Jan 2007: The Avenue School, North West London, UK
I began working here as a part-time volunteer. The school had originally been an Independent Muslim school. However, due to some internal disputes it was decided that the school would be closed. Many staff members were made redundant, therefore to help the school in its time of need I began to work voluntarily as a Teaching Assistant. It was an opportunity to find out if teaching was the correct career path. I worked as a teaching assistant in Reception and Years 5 and 6 supporting the teacher in any way that was necessary. In reception I worked closely with a child who had behavioural problems. I took playground duties and escorted the school on educational visits.
All of my work experiences and placements have involved working within a team-based culture. This involved planning, organisation, co-ordination and commitment e.g. distribution of tasks and effective communication amongst staff members, children and parents.
