I absolutely love being a primary school teacher. I am now offering my services as a private tutor. Given the difficult current circumstances, I am able to help your child catch up on any areas of learning they have missed due to school closures so that they are confident and ready for the next academic year.
My teaching experience and subject leadership experience have given me a thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum. I think that a teacher’s good relationship with the children is the key to a happy classroom and an environment where learning is maximised. My aim is for pupils to be totally engrossed in the lesson, excited about their learning, keen to ‘have a go’ even if they are unsure and proud of their achievements.
I work hard to plan varied and interesting lessons that are broad, balanced and fun. I recognise that it is crucial that teachers plan around their children’s needs and interests and I ensure I use different strategies to engage different types of learners. I make sure children are active in their learning and discovering things for themselves instead of being spoon fed.
I work full time as a primary school teacher and have done since 2015. I have taught in 2 different primary schools and have taught across Key Stages 1 and 2. I spent the majority of my teacher training year teaching a Reception class therefore I also understand the EYFS curriculum.
As a teacher with over 5 years’ classroom experience across Key Stages 1 and 2, I understand how children learn best. Since qualifying as a primary school teacher in 2015, I have had up to date and relevant training on the latest developments in the world of education including literacy and maths. I have experience of teaching children with a range of learning needs including those with autism and dyslexia. I have experience of raising the attainment of many pupils that speak English as an additional language.
