I like to spend time getting to know my students so that I can personalise my lessons. I am an enthusiastic, patient and creative teacher who wants to inspire, motivate and challenge. I like to use regular feedback to help my students make good progress. I like to use lots of different things in my teaching e.g. games, songs, plays, quizzes and images.
I am available to tutor ESOL to both children and adults, KS1 English and Maths and KS2 English.
I am a qualified teacher for both children and adults who is passionate about creating stimulating and interactive lessons that help students thrive. I have a Primary PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status from the University of Cumbria. I also have a 2:1 in English Literature from Newcastle University. I love teaching people of different ages and from different backgrounds and have completed a 140 hour course for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
I have experience teaching online and in person. I have taught children from Reception- Year 6 both in the classroom, in small groups and one-to-one. English is my specialist subject however I am trained in all National Curriculum subjects. I have also tutored for one year in flute teaching and have ABRSM grade 8.
I want to be a tutor so that I can enable all my students to reach their potential and be excited to learn. I’ve been interested in children’s learning outside of the classroom and been working in Liverpool Cathedral’s Education department. This has been alongside teaching English to asylum seekers.
Please notify me up to 24 hours in advance if you would like to cancel your lesson. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice will result in a 50% charge.
