The main aim is to have fun, to progress and to deepen knowledge and appreciation for music and our chosen instrument! Some people want to have fun playing for their own pleasure, others want to progress through the grade exams, others want to improve their sight-reading and ensemble playing and other students are aiming for music college entry.
I would be happy to help in all of these cases. I use both the Associated board and Trinity exam board including the jazz syllabus exams.
We would cover pieces, scales and arpeggios, sight-reading and aural/playing by ear work.
We play duets and fun pieces and any pieces of the student's choice. I will also introduce the student to players and music they might not have heard of before via CDs, concert recommendations and youtube clips.

Perfect! She is a very enthusiastic and friendly, as well as and very knowledgeable and experienced. She adapts very well to the students' level, interests and needs, which helps students progress faster. I've had a fantastic experience so far and learnt a lot in a very short period of time.
Susana is a great student! She is so enthusiastic and really progresses each week with what we are working on. I can't wait to hear her play "All of Me" on a gig in the future. :-))
Claire is very communicative in her lessons and always tries to make the lessons fun! She is very committed to her students and works hard to get them through their exams if that is the route they take.
She has a dedicated music room in her house and plenty of parking space, all the things that make lessons go smoothly.
We have known Claire for many years. Highly recommended x
I have worked alongside Claire for many years. Her professional history speaks volumes about her abilities and qualification to teach what she practises. She communicates with enthusiasm and shows great dedication to each and every student.
