I live in Chichester, West Sussex but I am willing to travel between Portsmouth and Brighton.
I have recently gained a TEFL Qualification (120 hours) which consisted of 100 hours online and 20 hours on a classroom course in Madrid. I have learned exciting ways to make learning English fun for all ages!
My lesson structure is an hour, which consists of 4 parts as follows:
Lead in- introducing the target language through a small activity or story.
Presentation - Picking out the target language for the lesson and teaching them the meaning, form and pronunciation.
Practice- (controlled activity)- for example writing, filling in the gaps
Production (freer activity) - involves talking and doing a fun and engaging activity using the target language.
I would also be very happy to teach Spanish to young learners aged 4-11 as I have a very good knowledge of it and really enjoy speaking it.
Nicci is an enchanting tutor, making my lessons fun and easy to go along with. I love to visit Barcelona time and time again and with Nicci's help I have been able to converse more on each visit with the lovely Spanish people. I would highly recommend her to young and older people wishing to learn a second language at their own pace.
I have not started lessons in TEFL yet, however I did study Primary School Teaching at University for a year and was in a school for a total of seven weeks, teaching pupils from the ages of 4-10 and in class sizes of 24+. I gained a lot of experience in teaching, finding out how to engage students in the lesson and successful approaches to helping them learn.
I also did a classroom course in Madrid which was part of my TEFL qualification where I learned a lot of ideas to make these lessons interesting and enjoyable for all ages and gained experience as to what TEFL includes.
TEFL/TESOL 120 hours online, which included a 20 hour weekend classroom course in Madrid at the beginning of September.

• I had experience of this during my teaching placements in first year at University. Having been placed in three different age groups ranging from 4 years old to 10 years old, I taught a range of lessons including English and Phonics. I learnt behavior management skills, lesson planning and how to deliver a successful lesson, including keeping the students engaged and giving clear instructions on the target language. Communicating with different staff members and working together was also a key part of my role.
