I think it is important for a student to have a good understanding of a topic before attempting to apply it in an exam.
Students all have very different ways of thinking and I try to accommodate for as many mindsets as possible. Maths, in particular, are often difficult when they are not explained or practised properly - many issues can be resolved by explaining things step by step. If that way doesn't work, then there is always another method of thinking about it!
I am a student about to go into third year of Product Design Engineering at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow School of Art.
I have no 'official' teaching experience but I have always enjoyed helping my classmates and friends in meeting their goals. When revising for exams, whether it be at university or school, my friends have often suggested that I pursue tutoring professionally.
I am currently enrolled in BEng Product Design Engineering at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow School of Art. My current grade-point-average (GPA) is 19.91 / 22 - first class hons. I am on the University of Glasgow's 'Engineering Excellence List' - an award that recognises academic excellence.
At school, I achieved:
3 Advanced Highers/A-levels - Mathematics (A), Physics (A), Art (A)
5 Highers - Mathematics (A), English (A), Physics (A), Graphic Communication (A), Design & Manufacture (C)
