My teaching method is to learn through doing - with a fun but professional focus. I look firstly at what the student wishes to get out of the sessions, then we'll form a plan together of how we can achieve this. If the student is working on monologues for drama school audition we will explore pieces which fit both the criteria and will show the student off to their advantage. I have an excellent knowledge of plays as well as being a professional playwright.
I have been a professional actor since 2000 and I have worked on stage in the West End , Number 1 Tours and Regional Theatre, and on screen in feature films, TV and commercials. I have always taught Acting alongside my performance career. I have had students who have gained places at drama schools as well as students who have become successful feature film actors. I have taught acting one-on-one for drama school entrance as well as at stage schools for professional young performers, evening classes for adults as well as higher education establishments. Additionally I have coached GCSE and A Level English Literature students in Shakespeare texts, one-on-one, for the company Learning With Success.

Perfect! My 14-year-old daughter has been taking acting lessons with Claire for 3 weeks now. In this short time, I have noticed that my daughter has become more confident and noticeably filled with more enthusiasm. Claire has an impressive amount of acting experience and generously shares this through her teaching. My daughter enjoys her lessons a great deal as they are both fun and effective and she can see herself the rapid progress she is making. I would highly recommend Claire if you are looking for help with improving your acting.
This student is very polite, dedicated, prompt and a quick learner.
Claire has been my acting teacher for over 2 years and she has been absolutely brilliant! I really enjoyed all her classes! She is always so great at giving feedback for you to grow and give your best! And she always creates new content for you to work on. Claire helped me a lot and I'd definitely recommend her.
Claire is a fantastic teacher, extremely talented, creative and encouraging in her direction and analysis. She brings out the best in everyone and is incredibly hard working and supportive. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
I've taken weekly acting classes with Claire for years which in itself already says a lot about Claire, as I wouldn't have done so had I not liked her style of teaching. Being an actress herself she is very good at illustrating acting techniques, but she is also equally good at judging scenes from a director's point of view thus giving valuable input for developing scenes. She's able to find the right approach for each and every student, while always being friendly and professional. I would totally recommend taking lessons with her if you want to improve your acting skills.
Claire is very professional. Great time management which I found rare with other tutors teaching acting, her lessons start on time and are packed with lots of practical learning, there is no waste of time as she is well organised and she has a clear plan for each lesson. Claire is focussed on the results and goals and her critiques are always constructed and balanced. Her enthusiasm and motivation is easily passed to the students. I strongly suggest Claire as a tutor, you will learn a lot, practically and theoretically.
