Hi! I'm Ella Dunlop, a professional working actress with much experience working in our leading regional theatres and on screen.
My teaching methods are tailored to each student and what they wish to achieve. I can help you choose and prepare drama school audition pieces, rehearse and film self tapes, or run lessons just for the fun of it! We can also work on vocal techniques to improve public speaking and confidence or simply introduce your youngster to the playful world of make believe. I am great with children and create fun, laid back and exhilarating lessons for them.
For the older students: an amalgamation of the methods of Stanislavski and Meisner (living truthfully under imaginary circumstances through truly listening and responding), with Actioning and Physicality thrown in the mix to unlock each student's imagination and delivery. We will also develop tailored vocal warm ups to expand the voice. For the younger students: we can play fun games and exercises to boost confidence and imagination, and work on age specific scenes/songs in a relaxed environment.
We can cover:
Acting, Singing, Flute or Piano lessons
Acting through Song
Audition technique: including for drama schools
Shakespeare (beginners to advanced)
Public speaking confidence
Corporate role play exercises
For those who are applying to drama schools- I know how stressful and confusing it can all be! I can guide you through the process, from the initial selection of speeches and schools to apply for, to honing these and interview prep.
I keep my prices cheap and competitive as I know how elitist this industry can seem.
I am a professional actress and have performed title roles in many of our leading regional theatres as well as on screen. Most recently I have tutored a student specifically for a Shakespeare in Schools audition for which she got cast.
See below for my CV highlights.
If you would rather a 30 minute lesson, my price for online is £12 per lesson. In person this would be £15 per lesson.

Excellent! I didnt stay for the lesson but the discussion of lesson plan was very good so no concerns so far.
Melanie’s son was great! Very willing to get stuck into a Shakespeare speech for the first time, showing a great deal of potential. Pleasure to teach.
My daughter Joanna, has only been having lessons with Ella since the beginning of July but the transformation in her ability and confidence has been amazing.
Ella knows her craft inside out. She explains everything well and at a level that your child can understand. She has a kind, caring nature and I trust her whole heartedly.
"Ella has given me lots of techniques and tips to help improve my performance. We have had fun creating different characters and bringing them to life. She even made shakespeare seem easy and understandable eventhough I didn't have a clue to start with.
Ella has also helped me with my audition piece and has got it to a much higher level than I would have been able to do on my own.
We are now working on a monologue and giving depth to the character.
I am enjoying working with Ella and although working hard we have so much fun. I highly recommend her." Joanna, aged 13.
