I currently teach private classes to groups and individuals. I find that most of my students come to class with low esteem when it comes to creativity so my methods are based around finding out what they would like to achieve, what inspires them and help them develop a style of drawing and painting which is both satisfying and rewarding which in turn encourages regular practice.
I am a freelance Illustrator, Graphic designer and storyboard artist working in the advertising, publishing and broadcasting industries. I have also been teaching painting & drawing to local classes as well as Adult education classes in Higher education colleges since 2003.
I would request payment in advance as this encourages the student to continue with their regular learning.
If travel is further than 10 miles I would add travel expenses to my rate.
I would request 48 hours notice if the student can't make it to class. I will give the same notice if I need to cancel.

I enrolled in Owen's drawing class 10 years ago in Taunton.
Owen was an excellent tutor. He never got angry or shouted at any of his students and always wanted to improve our drawing ability. His patience was amazing and he spent time demonstrating how to look at objects and accurately draw them. My drawing ability improved tremendously and I enjoyed Owen's classes.
I don't know any other Superprof so can't compare but I do know Owen is a terrific drawer and tutor and the reason why I would recommend him.
Owen is a fantastic teacher. Very patient and highly skilled. I would recommend his teaching and wonderful personality to anyone
Owen is my art teacher and a very accomplished artist in his own right. He has helped me develop my own style and encouraged me to stretch myself by trying different methods and techniques.
I have been attending weekly drawing and painting classes with Owen for around 18 months and I've learnt so much. Owen is a great teacher, friendly and encouraging, supportive of everyone, no matter what their abilities or experience. I will be back for more classes soon.
Owen is a very accomplished artist who has a very patient approach to teaching. His humour and encouragement are infectious, helping students to achieve their very best.
I would highly recommend Owen's drawing classes. He shared his expertise and enthusiasm through patient step by step demonstration and guidance that was tailored to each individual in the class. I learned loads in Owen's classes and noticed a huge improvement in my own skill and confidence! Thank you, Owen!
I have known Owen since our first day at Uni together on the same design and illustration course 30 years ago! He is a very talented and passionate artist who will stop at nothing to give genuine, friendly and wise advice to those seeking to expand their love of creative understanding and gain artistic confidence. Owen is a positive role model always making it a fun experience for all.
Owen is a superb tutor! I took lessons with him for several years and he really opened my eyes, enabling me to gain confidence and explore styles and techniques I'd never normally consider. All of this has had a dramatic and very positive effect on my artwork. He certainly knows his stuff, and is a brilliant illustrator. He's also a really nice guy! can't recommend him highly enough!
