Music is subjective, so I try to find what my students enjoy and go from there - I would never use a cookie-cutter approach, I like my students to lead the lessons as much as I do! We always have fun :P
I have a Music Degree from 2013 - since receiving this, I have been very active in South England's music scene, playing mostly in cover bands at Weddings etc.
The work is not consistent however, so I share my skills via my teaching service! :)

Sound Engineer -
I have front of house engineered at some of the best venues in Brighton and London, Including The Haunt and Camden Barfy. Commercially, I have worked extensively with ‘The Hotrox’ agency, providing a “superior sonic experience”. I’ve also worked as part of a logistics team at ‘Boomtown Festival’ for ‘Vanguardia’, where my job was to collate all the off/onsite information to a high degree of accuracy as the festival has been very close to closure due to noise violations.
In December 2013, I began managing the recording arm of Evolution Studios. This was a new facility with a small staff, I have seen the highs and lows of running a commercial music complex, learning valuable self critical skills in the process. As the company is still fnding its’ feet, much of my work here was voluntary.

Sound Monitoring for Boomtown Festival - August 2014
Working alongside Rob Dolling at mission control. We were in charge of collating all the data from over 20 on and off site SPL readings, minute by minute, in order to maintain an off site level at nine specifc reference points, if we were even the slightest bit ineffective, the council could shut down the festival and see it never return.
Sound Tech for The Hotrox - November 2013 - Present
I love working with function bands, it’s always the more rewarding working with consistent professionalism - which is my favourite thing about working for The Hotrox. Always suited and booted, everyone is punctual and works fast and effciently, it’s a joy to behold the show when everything (lights, sound etc) comes together.
Sound Tech/Tour Manager/Lighting Engineer for Vaude Villains - January 2013 – December 2016
I’ve been on tour with up and coming local band ‘Vaude Villains’ on and off over the last couple of years, purely as a labour of love. My role has been that of tour manager, live sound and lighting technician. Helping organise the tours, budgets, as well as sourcing gear and recording promotional material for them when they’re not on the road: (concealed information)
Sound Tech for Ouch Bar - October 2012 - Summer 2013
I was responsible for all live sound related ventures. This was my introduction to the world of FOH engineering, with noise restrictions and budget equipment, my knowledge and resourcefulness was pushed the limits, but we always got a great sound.
‘- Alex Pick, Managing Director of The Hotrox Function agency.
Ryan has been one of the Hotrox go-to Guitarists and Sound Techs for the last two years. Ryan is a monster player, and knows how to utilse the frequencies of his compact guitar rig to achieve astonishing results! He can also pack a PA up and down like no-bodies business and always delivers a superior sonic experience, most impressively from our infrequently lower quality systems. With infectious enthusiasm and boundless energy, you would be lucky to have this man on your team.
- Robert Dolling I.Eng, MIOA,. Principal Consultant Vanguardia Consulting
Ryan Worked alongside three principal consultants, two environmental noise consultants and a team of fourteen part-time assistants, to manage music noise levels at Boomtown Festival.
Ryan’s role was to collate information from the off-site environmental consultants and communicate this information to me as the principal consultant. The work required accurate note taking, recording the noise levels and verbally communicating observations on a master spreadsheet for future evidence.
Ryan gathered and documented the information effciently and accurately, which was not an easy task to undertake under pressure when very strict noise level limits have to be analysed and processed quickly to ensure Licence conditions are not breached.
Ryan was able to communicate with staff at all levels and his good humoured and positive nature helped maintain a good working atmosphere in the site offce and also made him popular with the other members of staff whilst working well into the early hours of the morning.
Without the opportunity of being able to fully brief Ryan before the event, Ryan had to use his initiative and his good intuitive skills were clearly evident in his work which made him a valuable member of the team. I would have no hesitation in employing Ryan again in the future.
