Professional Musician and Qualified Teacher offers Guitar lessons all levels, styles and age ranges

Methodology

I believe in sound before symbol.

The main attribute that I am inspired by in people is their experience; I want to teach because I want to impart skills, knowledge, and understanding to others in the hope that I will inspire them, as I have been.

I have been actively involved in music for twenty five years, in that time, I have learned to play my instrument to a high level in all styles although my main interest is in tonal improvisation.

My passion for music has led to great dedication, determination to succeed and sacrifice's to be made, it has led to me to many different places - and enabled me to meet many different people.

Having the opportunity to share this and inspire young people gives me great deal of satisfaction and also the desire to develop effective communication, to contribute even more.

With regards to music teaching my ethos is that: it is important to create a rich learning environment, a space that we can hear, see, feel and that creates an opportunity for interaction with others in both new and different ways.

Throughout my teacher training I have learned about the meters of high and low skill sets versus the theory of fixed/growth mind sets and that, as teachers, we are not only responsible for the learning of others but must also provide the inspiration for others - to learn.

Formal and informal settings are integral when adapting the variation in which pupils learn; I would describe my teaching style as relaxed but with high energy,

I teach well-structured lessons with a clear learning objective. I set tasks which engage and motivate students of all abilities, disabilities, origin and background. I adapt my teaching accordingly given the variation in circumstances that present themselves on a daily basis although I am still rigorous with my planning, learning outcomes and assessment.
