« I went to see Rose a year ago as a 58 year old guy who could just about sing in the shower (as long as no-one was listening) but who had always wanted to be able to express myself through singing. Rose is a professional singer (so she's demanding in the right kind of way) and a warm, caring person, and she has got me going on the basics of technique, expression and a small repertoire to where I can now sing in public (actually, in front of friends only!) without feeling at all embarrassed. I really recommend her. »

Professional singing teacher/vocal coach (contemporary styles) - based in Exeter. I can also cover songwriting, harmonies, backing vocals and performance techniques

Methodology

Hello! My name's Rose and I am a professional and experienced vocal coach and working singer.

I have taught both 1-2-1 and in schools/colleges over the years. I teach from age 7 upwards and all abilities whether a child developing their new found talent or a professional vocalist wanting to maintain their technique and repertoire.

Within my lessons I cover technical work as well as assisting with song development and performance. Students are also encouraged to find their own individual voice, with some students wishing to develop songwriting skills also. I am friendly and enthusiastic in what I do and always talk students through exercises with concise explanations and tips.

Experience

At 31 I have been teaching singing and working as a professional singer for 6 years. I currently teach an average of 20 individual students per week in Surrey but will be in Devon permanently from April 2017. I have also taught choirs and vocal harmony groups.

Previous students have achieved grades (from 1-8) and have gone on to prestigious music schools such as The Academy of Contemporary Music and BIMM. I also have students that regular compete and have been selected for TV shows such as The Voice UK.

I went to see Rose a year ago as a 58 year old guy who could just about sing in the shower (as long as no-one was listening) but who had always wanted to be able to express myself through singing. Rose is a professional singer (so she's demanding in the right kind of way) and a warm, caring person, and she has got me going on the basics of technique, expression and a small repertoire to where I can now sing in public (actually, in front of friends only!) without feeling at all embarrassed.
