I try to get students to take ownership of their learning by pushing them to problem-solve for themselves. I try to guide them to the right answer by asking questions. I don't think students learn best when they are asked to regurgitate answers back to the teacher but rather when they are taught to find the clues that help them figure out the answers for themselves.
I also think learning should be fun and engaging. I try to bring humor into the learning process by being humble and self-deprecating. Students need to learn that it is OK to make mistakes and that everyone, including the teacher, makes them.
