My main goals in teaching are for the student to love the music they are playing and at the same time, develop and improve their skills to become a confident violinist. The lesson plans will be personalized for each student depending on their short/long-term objectives - whether it be to prepare for exams, or to simply learn for pleasure.
With beginners, I focus on helping the student find the right setup of the violin and the bow, in order to create a good sound and feel comfortable on the instrument. For more advanced students, I focus on musical phrasing, nuances, and putting their own ideas into action. The goal is to enjoy playing and practicing, and learn something in the process - I achieve this through patience, experience, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humour.
I am a violinist based in London and have earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in violin performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, USA. I will earn my Artist Diploma from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama this year. I have taught students from beginner to university levels, and was a teaching assistant at the New England Conservatory.
I am also experienced in Music Theory, and am fluent in both English and French.
