Just over three months until Valentines. Why not brush up your violin skills in time to serenade your loved one(s)?
Regimented lessons with achievable goals set to stretch each student ever so slightly beyond their comfort zone.
My aim is not simply get students through their grades but to develop them into reliable musicians. For the more advanced violinists, I will be pushing you to learn the Tchaikovsky concerto (alongside other pieces).
Venture Capitalist by day, musician by night - I fundamentally believe that music is not just a hobby but a way of life.
Learning the violin, I loathed teachers who wasted time and I reflect this in my teaching methods which deliver results.
I've taught c.20 long-term students of all ages, ranging from Grades 1 to DipABRSM/conservatoire-entry standard.
I teach various styles of violin: classical, Irish folk, and jazz.
Although optional to do grades, they are a good indicator of skill levels:
Grades 1~4, £25 per hour
Grades 5~7, £30 per hour
Grade 8 and beyond, £30~100 depending on level of technical supervision needed
DipABRSM in Violin
Grade 8 Distinctions in: Violin, Viola, Clarinet, Saxophone, Piano, and Theory
Bachelors in Music at KCL
Member of multiple semi-professional quartets
Member of a ceilidh band: Panic at the Ceilidh
Perfect! Benny is super enthusiastic, patient and inspiring for my 12 year old daughter. She thoroughly enjoys her lessons and his method of teaching. I highly recommend Benedict as your violin teacher!
Fantastic musicality and passion. Future developments will be driven by her own curiosity - I'll make sure to nudge her in the right direction
Perfect! Benedict is a very patient and pedagogical teacher. He was able to overcome the language barrier ("I am French") and adapt very quickly with this new musical vocabulary. He has a rather original way of teaching and offers exercises that I had never done before. Finally, he manages to put the emphasis on practice as well as musicality. Great teacher!
Great musicality that comes out the more she focuses on her own sound rather than the score. Good technical foundation with easily fixable quirks like tense shoulder. Looking forward to seeing how quickly she can develop into a strong musician
Benedict is a very approachable and reliable person who invests a lot of time and effort into tailored lessons and in all that he does. He has extensive knowledge and experience in his field of classical music - I would definitely recommend him to anyone and to all my friends who might need help with violin instrumental training, music history or music theory. I am confident that he will be beneficial to anybody's fulfilment in musical education, and am thankful to have met him.
Benedict did a great job. My skills were far from perfect when we started lessons. We had 10 classes and I felt confident enough to perform in my school. Plus he is a very kind and understanding person. I know I will keep improving with Benedict, thank you
A wonderfully eccentric and patient violin teacher, I looked forward to every session and actually learned to love practice! I have absolutely no talent for music but luckily he does and I saw my level of play and musical literacy improve through his care and craft.
Benedict is a musician with great humor and real talent. Thanks to him, my son has achieved a distinction in his Abrsm diploma in violin this summer. I will not hesitate to recommend him to others. Thanks !
Benny is a wonderful teacher with 'creative' flair. The man had me playing the first few bars of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto in just a short 45mins. Highly recommend.
I met Benny through my university (King's College London) where he was studying music. He has been a great supporter of my musical career ever since. He is a funny, patient, yet very disciplined tutor. Thank you Benny!
