My singing lessons are usually divided in 20 minutes of vocal warm ups, exercises and scales, while the rest of the time is dedicated to focusing on one or two songs that you find challenging, giving you feedback and tips on how to improve your performance.
Martina I, born 1992, is a half Italian, half Egyptian singer/ songwriter/ session musician based in London. She started studying music in Milan, at the Cluster Music School, when she was 16. From then on, her biggest goal became being a professional musician and singer. She has been involved in many different musical projects in Italy, such as function bands (Tom’s Family, ClusterBand, ClusterGospelGirls,…), session work (Everybody on the Shore recording studio), and original projects (Faber in Mente). She moved to London in 2013 to start her musical degree at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, from which she graduated in 2016, obtaining a Bachelor of Music degree in Popular Music Performance.
Martina is currently a prolific session singer for both live and recording projects. Her vocal style has been described as punchy and powerful, with a voice that is a unique mixture of Etta James’, Chaka Khan’s and Erykah Badu’s voices.
