I believe that teaching for History at all levels is best done through example, practise and analysis, given the emphasis on technique. For example, I would write an exemplar essay, ask a student to recreate an essay using that technique before spending time with the student to analysis strengths/weaknesses of the essay with regards to technique. If a student is able to master their essay technique, they will have no problem with achieving the highest marks possible in their exams. Every lesson I am to write a small test/quiz for the student to recap the previous lesson as a form of consolidation. I consider myself a very patient individual and I am prepared to be flexible with my teaching methods and my style. However, I am very driven and determined to follow through on my promises. For example, if I promised a student that I would help them get to X grade, I will do my hardest in order to help the student to get that grade.
I have been working as a tutor since September 2016, where I worked for Explore Learning (a tutoring company). I have been tutoring privately since January 2017 on a small scale, mainly to friends and relatives, where I have been successful in delivering the grades needed.
Travel rates will vary if the location is not accessible by public transport. If this is the case, then I will require an additional fee to pay for a taxi to and from work (to either my house or to the nearest tube/train station.)
