I make everything I teach relatable & interesting for the student. I believe teaching should always be a fun and stimulating experience for the student. The student must always feel comfortable and safe to practise what they have learnt each lesson. To me, teaching is not about giving information, it's about having an intellectual relationship with the student.

Teaching Experience: In 2016, I decided that I wanted to challenge myself by going abroad and teach English to kids, so I moved to Shanghai in 2017 and have been teaching there since the first week of my arrival.
Back in 2015, I decided to provide private tuition from my own home, while completing my Masters in Psychology. I provided one on one teaching lessons as an English and Arabic teacher to students from various backgrounds. I worked with both students who spoke English as their native language and others who did not.
Working with Kids and young people: Having volunteered at various places, including Refugee Action, has provided me with the skills and experience when it comes to working with kids and young vulnerable people. The skills I’ve also developed and learnt throughout my two years experience in China will be transferable to working in a new country.
Organisation skills and problem solving: During my first two month in China, the teaching company I worked for provided teacher’s training during the day while I worked in the evening and weekends teaching English to children. My schedule was extremely busy and often stressful but I learnt how to be extremely efficient, organized, punctual and an excellent problem solver.
Leadership and teamwork skills: Taking part in last year’s summer school I was in charge of a group of young kids aged between 3 to 9 years old in addition to two teaching assistants who helped me for 6 weeks to reach our teaching objectives in a short period. I had to delegate assignments and be in charge of my team and my students.
Communication skills: Having worked as a English teacher in China for 2 years I have developed excellent communication skills through working every single day with different teaching assistant during my classes and also after class when parents would come forward to ask about their child’s progress in class.
