I like to teach people in a way that suits them as an individual, whether they are a visual learner or a auditory learner and on topics that are relevant to them and supplements the work they are already doing.
I first break down the topic and create a poster or document that defines the topic, includes key words with definitions and has all the relevant information on the subject in a clear and concise manner. From this I can further explain the topic or anything else that the student doesn't understand. I like to use flash cards/anagrams for information that needs to be remembered or any other technique that the student finds useful
I am encouraging but I will push you and I can go at a pace that suits you.
I can tutor GSCE upto A-levels in biology, sociology or psychology
I have been tutoring most of my life to my younger siblings, 2 of which have dyslexia, mostly in English and maths.
I was in Top set in all my classes and have 2 Maths GCSE's grades B&C, Both English Language and English Literature at Grade B.
I have A levels in Biology, sociology and psychology and further went on to study psychology as an undergraduate.
In secondary school, I worked with children with lower than average reading levels to improve their reading once a week.
I supported my classmates in A-level psychology as we went through a teacher change
I further went on to become a teachers assistant at a supplemtary school whilst studying psychology at university and then gave 1 to 1 lessons to a small group of 6 year olds in both English and maths
