My teaching method is to find out through diagnostic testing where a pupil is with their learning, what the sticking points are and from there devise a plan of action. I use a multi-sensory approach, employing a range of different techniques and noticing which works best with each individual pupil, to facilitate future planning. I retest frequently to ensure that progress is being made. Pupils learn best when they are enjoying their learning and that is one of the main aims. I also try to involve pupils in the process of planning and assessing, so that they have some control over their own learning.
I am a teacher, currently teaching in a private school in central Bristol, with a diploma in Dyslexia and experience of special needs tutoring. I would like to move to home tutoring, both online and when circumstances allow in person.
