My teaching methodology includes boosting exam technique and confidence in understanding questions. It also predicates upon clarifying difficult and abstract literary concepts to access higher GCSE grades (e.g. polemic arguments, stichomythia, extended metaphor etc.). I enable all my students to have access to higher level vocabulary and bespoke resources developed for each session to make sure that they can develop their writing and fluency further. I also deem creative, multimodal resources important to integrate into sessions to make sure all learners can access the content.
I am a secondary English teacher working in Birmingham. I have experience working with 11-16 year olds with AQA exam specification for both language and literature exams. I have worked extensively with Shakespeare, poetry and creative working to help students achieve a grade 4+ to a grade 9.
