Qualified GCSE triple science and A Level Biology Science Teacher, Wembley London

Methodology

First, I need to know my student, I need to understand my student's strengths and weaknesses and understand why they need, or want, to be tutored in the first place.
By establishing a baseline of who my student is, it allows me to prepare sessions and how to best proceed.
I do not like to just talk at my students, I like my students to be actively engaged in sessions by bringing in real-world value to science. I don't want to just teach my student, for example, a new formula, I want my student to understand why we teach said formula, the benefit and value it has in our world.
So through this, I like to create research tasks, to really engage my students mind in the topics as much as possible.

Experience

I am a graduate of Biology from Queen Marys UoL, and have my PGCE in secondary sciences with biology as my speciality.
I have spent a year working in London schools, teaching both high level and low-level groups, gaining a wide array of experience of teaching students with different needs. Beyond this, I have spent the past year as a Scientist in Residence, within a highly prestigious British International School in Buenos Aires.
In September I will be moving back to London to study for my masters in Global Health at UCL.
During this time I am looking to tutor students who have a passion for science but need that extra hand to achieve their goals.

I met Matthew at University where we both studied Biology, and he was always incredibly supportive, helpful and patient when I needed clarifications on certain topics. Based on my positive experiences, I definitely recommend him as a tutor.
