Methodology

A one-hour lesson can be tailored according to the requirements of the child and the expectations of the parent or guardian. Materials for the lesson can be prepared by myself upon consultation with you or may be centred around your child's homework from school. Below is an example of how a one-hour lesson could be delivered.

*15-20 min teaching input
*20-30 min paper-based activity
*5-15 min game-based activity
*Assigned additional homework (if desired)

I am passionate about differentiation within learning experiences, providing support or additional challenge where required and tailoring teaching inputs to the needs of the specific child.

Experience

I graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a First Class MA (Hons) in Education. I am registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and I am currently working full time as a primary teacher within Aberdeen City.

I have taught at at range of stages and have worked with children with a range of needs and abilities. I have a sound understanding of effective teaching practice and delivery of the Scottish school curriculum (Curriculum for Excellence).
