I have a masters level education in special educational needs and literacy difficulties. I have taught all subjects for over 13 years and English and History at Secondary level. I also feel confident in maths. I use multimedia and visuals to help make ideas concrete and I structure lessons using the feedback of the student. I especially know how hard it is to take tests and sit exams and I can help with that in a friendly, patient and kind manner.
I am an experienced SENDCo with a passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential no matter their starting points. After 13 years in schools I can say I've had a wide variety of experience , working with looked after children, in special needs settings, in mainstream primary and secondary schools and one to one with adults. I specialise in working with pupils with ASD and dyslexia, with specialist qualifications in both areas but I have worked with a wide range of special needs and disabilities. Most importantly I feel passionate about supporting all pupils, whether you have an additional need or not.
I have taught English up to GCSE level and I am able to teach maths to a foundation level. I currently tutor in History and can support with Study skills and preparing for exams. I approach each lesson with the individual in mind and provide detailed feedback after each session.
