Learning style assessment to ensure lessons are tailored to students delivered by an experienced qualified teacher .Sessions are based around student strengths and weaknesses and personalised to ensure maximum benefit. Relaxed sessions to enable learning at a pace lead by the student.
I have been tutoring 1 to 1 sessions for three years, although a qualified teacher for over twenty years. I have experience of teaching Sats and have tutored GCSE English.
My students have ranged from age 7 to 16 years and have all benefited from my mission to develop the confidence to achieve. Based upon learning styles my students are encouraged to utilise a methodical approach to tasks and to understand and apply the requirements of their task, and above all to ask again whenever they are unsure.

My teaching career began in 1996, I have a particularly interest in how children learn which lead to my masters degree study of learning styles and to discovering how to enhance the learning experience of those with learning difficulties. My professional development has included specialising in language, literacy and math for those with special educational needs and I have completed a course on dyslexia therapy. My students have included those who simply feel that they have fallen behind to those with special needs including dyspraxia, Irlens syndrome, elective mutism, hearing and visual impairment as well as emotional needs.
Sometimes the only thing preventing us from achieving our goals is ourselves. I understand this and have faced my fears of the unknown by flying a small aircraft ( not keen on heights) and learning to sail ( same sensation but more about what you can’t see below) Over coming a fear or obstacle simply makes you feel great!
Lesley has been tutoring my son who has autism for the past 2 years in English and Chemistry.
In the 2 years lesley has been tutoring my son I have seen his confidence and grades improve. He always looks forward to lesley’s lessons.
Lesley studies the current curriculum to make sure the work he is doing coincides with his school work.
I spent a long time looking for a tutor for my son and when I met lesley I knew she was the right tutor for him. Lesley is kind, patient, understanding and very good at her job. I have recommended lesley to many of my friends who are as equally impressed with her as I am. I feel privileged to have such a lovely lady tutoring my son.
Lesley is a very reliable, trustworthy tutor, she is able to make lessons interesting and fun but at all times is very professional.
I would not hesitate to recommend her to any parent.
