I aim to provide an inclusive method of English language tutoring encouraging students to engage with material relevant to their lives. After assessing the tastes and goals of the individual I structure my lessons to first introduce vocabulary with pronunciation reinforcement and then move on to using the new vocabulary within sentence structures. Towards the end of the lesson I introduce writing exercises, relevant to the material covered.
I am a qualified TEFL teacher and have taught at an English language training centre in Suzhou, China for a year. I delivered lessons to classes of children ranging in age from 3-14 years old and also to adults on a one-to-one basis. I was promoted to assistant head teacher, where my duties included quality checking the teaching standards across the organisation.

Assistant Head Teacher/English Teacher:
-Taught English to a diverse range of students, aged from three to fourteen.
-Delivered one on one lessons to adults.
-Prepared and adapted the curriculum and lesson plans.
-Tutored and mentored new teachers.
-Quality assessed the level of teaching across the whole organisation and highlighted areas to improve.
-Responsible for the daily activities of the foreign teaching staff.
The Young Curators’ Collective, Farnham
November 2014 – July 2015
Freelance Writer/Workshop Facilitator:
-Worked with a collective of A Level students taking part in museum work experience.
-Responsible for the supervision of students during trips to museums and during workshops.
-Delivered a workshop on professional writing practice.
-Published a press release for the collective on the Museums Association website.
-Maintained an online blog and further social media presence, chronicling the progression of the participants.
-Ensured contact with the students to encourage personal testimonials, which were published online.
Brighton and Hove City Reads, Brighton
May 2013 – October 2013
Read Aloud Group Leader:
-Worked in a homeless shelter as the leader of a weekly reading group.
-Created a welcoming environment to encourage others to join the group.
-Assisted participants with their comprehension of language, whilst reading out loud.
-Dealt with vulnerable adults by being able to assist people with varying mental abilities and different needs and requirements.
