I am a university student in QUB, studying drama and theatre. I have completed ten GCSE's and four A levels, all grade C or above and have a passion for innovitave and dynamic teaching. I went to Assumption Grammar school where my drama teacher often asked me to create lesson plans and teach students at GCSE and A level, when she was engaged in other activities. I also ran the after school drama club and directed the year eight and nines in the school drama festival, both of these groups won in their year groups. My methodology includes clear communication skills, thorough lesson planning, time-limited activities, use of PowerPoint presentations where necessary, use of work sheets, use of evaluation forms, delivery of practical and written activities, genuine interest in students, question and answering sessions, setting and marking of homework.
I have directed a group of thirty year eight students in the school drama festival in 2016, and I also directed a group of thirty year nines over a six week period in 2016. Both groups won their category. I have also taught groups of 14-15 GCSE students over the academic year in both practical and theory for the AQA and CCEA in both drama and theatre studies and English literature on at least eight occasions. I have very strong creative writing, artistic, drama and literature skills as well as having an all round knowledge of the history of art and classicism in drama.
I am currently studying at QUB for an honors degree in Drama and theatre studies. I have had poetry published in the past, which I entered through competitions, and I have also won an art competition for the whole of Sheffield Education Authority. I have also worked with drama companies across Northern Ireland, such as Bruiser Theatre company, Replay (for the auditory and visually impaired children of Co.Down). I have done work with the national theatre group and performed in the Waterfront hall. I received commendation for my performance in a leading role in the school production of Oklahoma in 2016 from my head teacher. I have worked with children from a key stage one level and key stage two at primrary schools in Downpatrick and Newcastle as part of my work experience placement. I have other general experience working as a sales assistant in Bon Bon, Newcastle, and had opportunities to train staff once I was established.
