I approach teaching through a desire to share my knowledge learned at art school, focusing on one to one support and individually tailored classes to improve confidence, creativity and technical ability. I like classes to be honest, nurturing and supportive with time for questions and a chat as well as hands on, practical learning.
I have a first class BA (hons) degree in Fine Art: Painting and Printmaking (graduated 2020) from The Glasgow School of Art. I am now working as an artist based in Scotland, with my work spanning animation and film to painting, printmaking and clay work. I have teaching experience of arts and crafts for primary aged kids for 1 year and I am currently taking a TEFL course to enhance my tutoring skills. I currently work part time as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities where we often are creative together in a supportive and safe environment. I have also just begun work as an online English teacher for children.
Perfect! My first class with Jen was great.
It was more of an informal chat to get to know each other better, find out what I wanted and establish how the classes would work.
She is very friendly, approachable, and very experienced!
I can wait to start with her next week.
Really friendly and keen to learn! Thanks :)
Jen is a very reliable and knowledgable art tutor. She is always so positive and very encouraging, focusing on enjoying the process and well as the outcome.
Jen is an amazing tutor! She has a huge knowledge of various art techniques and practices as well as being kind and thoughtful. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in fine art and developing their skills.
