I have been tutoring since I was in my GCSE, both in my local area and further afield. I have always felt that relaying the information and methods that I was taught when I was younger to students is a really important aspect of the education system as a whole; and while the classroom is the primary source of teaching, taking on a private tutor can only be beneficial.
Ever since I began at Oxford University, I have been working for Spires Online Tutoring Academy, a tutoring company that offers a wholly online tutoring service, one which cuts out the travelling time and expenses and which allows both tutor and tutee to maximise the amount of teaching that could be done.
I also work as a Private Tutor for JD Consultancy, a tutoring agency who use leading online platforms to deliver sessions to predominantly foreign language students seeking help in English language and comprehension.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford where I studied French and Linguistics. I studied French and Spanish all the way through school and can therefore teach all levels up to A-Level inclusive. I move between Gloucestershire and London but can travel and have tutored extensively in and around Oxford.
I like to challenge my tutees during sessions and view any session where a student has not been properly tested as a wasted session. I do, however, understand that tutoring is work done as well as school work and so do not want the environment I work under to resemble that of a classroom. As a result, I like to break up my sessions with breaks and intervals, in which the student is able to switch off, before returning to the topic at hand.
I graduated from the University of Oxford with an Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in French and Linguistics.
I obtained 9 A* and 1 A at GCSE, as well as A*AA at A-Level, including in French and Spanish.
I currently write for my College's languages magazine, usually about one article a week; I also edited by school's modern languages magazine for two years, presiding over two publications a term, each with about 15-20 articles contained within.
In addition, I am currently undertaking a Beginner's Arabic course, with a view to travelling to the Arabic-speaking world in my year abroad next academic year to continue my studies.
Finally, the two weeks of teaching I did in Cordoba, Spain, when I was 16 gave me an amazing insight into the world of teaching and education and allowed me to take my own classes of 15 or so students. I was teaching English to Spanish children, aged between 5 and 12, at a language centre and, as well as taking my own, smaller classes, assisted the teachers of the larger classes.
Ludo helped my son to prepare his year 9 entrance exams in England. He is very responsible, patient and professional. Ludo is a very responsive and inspiring tutor. I would definitely reach out to him again when I have other tutoring needs in the future.
