About the lesson
The focus of my tutoring is you, the student. It is my job to identify the gaps in your knowledge, and to eliminate them as efficiently as possible. I then need to teach you to organise that knowledge effectively so that you can pass your exams. I do that by asking you questions and causing you to reflect on what you know, but also by teaching you to ask questions of me. First you must acquire knowledge, then you must reflect critically on it. That is my philosophy.
Very highly commended by St. Hugh's College, Oxford, and Trinity College, Cambridge, for Julia Wood and Robson History Prize entries.
Won school history prize in each of the past four years, as well as the politics prize in Sixth Form.
I am a very academically-minded person. I love the subjects I teach, and so I teach them with passion and enthusiasm. I also love the access that one-on-one sessions give you to the other person. They allow you to really get inside the other person's head, and it is only by doing that that you can make them a better student. So, if you're looking for someone who knows their stuff, and who knows how to communicate it to others, then I'm your man.
