My teaching method centres on following IB certified textbooks and study guides particularly in more content heavy and fact based subjects like Biology, while offering my own explanations that are easier to understand. I follow the syllabus extremely closely as this is the most important aspect of any useful learning in the IB and is what ensures that students have good results. My lesson structure would follow chapters or sub-units in subjects like Biology, while in subjects such as English, it would include literary analysis, essay writing and editing/working on Internal Assessments.
It is important to state that my lesson structure will be fluid enough to follow the needs of the student themselves, for example as they may need help on their coursework rather than focusing on the content of the subject from one lesson to the next. This is important because focusing on coursework is also an extremely important part of getting the highest mark possible in an IB subject.
As I am studying at Durham university, lessons during term time will have to take place online via webcam. I have received tutoring like this before and it helped me a lot, with the use of platforms like Zoom and Googledocs to conduct lessons! If you still have hesitations about this method of learning please drop me a message and let me know!
I am a recently graduated IB student, predicted 43 points out 45. I am extremely knowledgeable on the IB process as I have completed the programme in full, in an IB specialised school, and also took part in the preparatory Middle Years Programme prior to the IB. I have experience in tutoring as I have been tutored myself, and also took part in the tutoring programme in my school, helping other students in younger grades with their subjects, including languages and the sciences, for several years ensuring them a good foundation for the IB.
So that you understand a little about me, I am 18 years old and I am French and British, speaking French, Spanish and English. I have been living in London for about five years, and prior to this time I lived in various places including Barcelona, Cape Town, Bangkok and Mauritius. I attended school in Kingston and I am now studying English Literature and Philosophy at Durham, which is ranked the best university in the UK for this degree.
I work with students of any levels, even if they are still preparing for the IB (although an IB student would be preferred). I have a travel rate of £5 if the lesson is to be held at the student's house. My cancellation policy is that the student may cancel a lesson up to two days before with no charge, but if a two day notice is not given then they must still pay for the lesson.

Manon has been a peer and tutor of mine for four years now, and I can undoubtedly claim that she both passion and talent for her subjects, and the way she goes about explaining topics is unique and very effective. She has particularly helped me with Biology, successfully helping me understand topics I struggled with, as well as helping me consolidate and test what I already knew. She is incredibly kind and patient, and destigmatises any topics that may initially seem challenging - I would highly recommend her as a tutor.
