He analysed my current diet, training plan and all my specific measurements with top of the range equipment. He then quickly came up with some simple changes I could make to ensure I was getting the most out of my diet. Regarding types of food and when best to eat them for both training days and competition days. Methodology

Are you an Athlete, Dancer or just someone who wants to look & feel better? Do you struggle to reach your body composition or performance goals? Are you looking for an evidence-based Qualified Nutritionist you can trust? I am here to help! I will analyse your current dietary habits, suggest changes and guide you towards your goals. During this process, I will also aim to educate you enough, so you can become your own nutritionist in the future!

For professional Athletes I offer very specific support such as:
- Personalised nutrition plan matching your training demands
- Competition day nutrition
- safe weight-loss program while cutting down to your weight class (e.g. fighters)
- Advice for traveling athletes (coping with jet lag, sleep hygiene)
- Advice for athletes competing or training in extreme environments (hot, cold, altitude, humidity)

I strongly encourage evidence-based nutritional support as well as a food-first approach. As I am also an accredited UK anti-doping advisor, I am able to educate individuals about doping in sport as well as support them in minimising the risk of unintentional use of illegal substances (e.g. through bad supplementation/medication).
Additionally, I am ISAK level 1 accredited Anthropometrist, which gives me the ability to effectively and accurately measure body fat percentage using very accurate harpenden skinfold caliper on 8 different sites on the body. This is a great tool for tracking my clients progress over time.

Background

I am a passionate Sports Nutritionist (MSc), Sports Scientist (BSc, Hons) and a semi-professional dancer (breakdance/breaking) based in Leeds. I have completed my SENr (Sport & Exercise Nutritionist Register) accredited Master’s degree in Sport & Exercise Nutrition at Leeds Beckett University. Additionally, I am ISAK level 1 accredited Anthropometrist, which gives me the ability to effectively and accurately measure body fat percentage using very accurate harpenden skinfold caliper on 8 different sites on the body. This is a great tool for tracking my client's progress over time.

I have experience in providing nutrition support to a large variety of athletes from different sports (football, rugby, basketball, breakdance, endurance & ultra-endurance athletes, cross-fit, martial-arts etc.) I gained these experiences either from my own initiative (going to athletes personally and offering support) or through University. Through university, I had the opportunity to gain experience in professional sports environment such as working with professional basketball team (Leeds Force), rugby team (Rhinos & Carnegie) and semi-professional soccer players from USA (RIASA). Individual athletes I have worked with include an international-level athlete representing Scotland in women’s Modern Pentathlon & Fencing as well as Great Britain in Shooting and a Cross-fit athlete who made it last year into regionals and ended up being in top 10 best cross-fit athletes in Europe.

I have been teaching dance for more than 9 years to a large variety of ages (3 y.o to adults) in three different countries in Europe. This gave me a great set of skills for working with different people both in group and 1 to 1 consultation.
Additionally, during my studies, I have gained a lot of experience in the laboratory setting via conducting a large variety of physiological and biochemical testing and measurements including ELISA.
In terms of my achievements, some of the data from a project I was part of during my MSc degree, have been presented by my supervisor Dr Kevin Deighton at the 25th European Congress on Obesity in Vienna as well as recently published in the British Journal of Nutrition ((concealed information) Based on my undergraduate independent study, I was invited as guest speaker to a dance science conference “Mind the Gap: Train smart, improve performance” in London to deliver nutrition seminar for dancers and circus performers. Additionally, my sports psychology work focused on Imagery in Dance was published in the UK’s biggest Sports Psychology website “believeperform”.

Rates start at £50 per initial consultation (may last more than an hour, depending on client). Rates vary also depending on the client needs. For example, sedentary/lightly active individuals looking for a weight-loss won't be as demanding as professional athletes wanting to improve performance, where my support needs to be very specific and much more time-consuming.

From the moment you begin working with Mira, you will realise how knowledgeable and passionate about nutrition and fitness he is.

Mira took the time to listen and understand what I was trying to achieve nutrition/fitness wise and we spoke about this in depth (for someone who has a very poor diet and will not tolerate eating most vegetables, I feel I was probably quite a challenging client! Haha).

However, after thoroughly discussing in detail each element of my daily routine and food diary, Mira was then able to ultimately provide an achievable plan for me to work towards to optimise my performance in sport and improve my general wellbeing.

I cannot recommend Mira enough if you really want help to change your lifestyle, or, if you are simply looking for ways to make adjustments to your diet and/or fitness to maximise your results.
