• I am able to teach chemistry at any level, from junior science to university undergraduate.
• The tutorials would occur online, using zoom/skype or similar.
• I would take and share digitally written notes/annotations using an application such as OneNote.
I aim to adapt each lesson to the needs, experience and required pace of the individual student. For example, I am able to teach and discuss key concepts and then walk the student though examples and practice questions, thereby putting the theory into context and helping to solidify their understanding.
Some students who struggle with chemistry often focus too much on mass memorisation of reactions and processes. Whilst memory is obviously still important, I aim to help my students to correctly comprehend scientific concepts. The ability to accurately understand and rationalise chemical processes and ideas, is an integral part in learning, and consequently enjoying chemistry.
I am well practiced in communicating scientific ideas using a range of methods and am aware that frequently, different, or indeed a combination of approaches, are required for students to comprehend scientific concepts.
I am a physical chemist and gained a PhD in chemistry from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2019. I am extremely passionate about my subject and have been teaching university and pre-university level chemistry for five years.
My teaching work has involved supervising large undergraduate laboratory classes, running tutorial chemistry workshops, writing problem sheets, teaching/lecturing in a classroom setting with medium sized groups of students, as well as extensive private tutoring experience.

Georgina was my Chemistry tutor at the University of Otago in New Zealand. She is very compationate and understanding of everyone's learning abilities. She catered her tutoring to reflect the best possible style of learning for an individual and it is safe to say I personally would not have succeeded in chemistry without the assistance of Georgina.
I was tutored by Georgie last year at the University of Otago and I genuinely believe that without her help, I wouldn't have passed the paper. Georgie took the time to help me really understand the content and I went in to my final exam far more relaxed than I thought possible.
Georgina is an excellent chemistry tutor who took the time to make sure I understood the content. She is kind, patient and very understanding. She was my tutor for the University of Otago, New Zealand, Chemistry 191 paper. I am a mature student with no background knowledge in chemistry and with her tutelage I was able to pass with flying colors! I would recommend Georgina to anyone who wishes to excell in Chemistry.
It is a pleasure to write this recommendation for Georgina. I am in my First Year Health Science. It is a challenging programme in the best of times; but with the advent of Covid-19, it seems near-impossible! Georgina was recommended to me by a friend who swore she was the right person to help me through Chemistry.
He was not wrong.
Her ability to guide me through tough concepts and have the patience to have to adapt her teaching style to communicate these concepts to me, is a fantastic skill. She was able to help me prepare for LAT's which, thankfully having taught the Chemistry Labs herself, knew all the requirements of each Lab, making it easy for me to ask the questions that often I have struggled with in all of my Labs in the past. I went from struggling to pass LAT's, to breezing through them.
Her knowledge of chemistry, her approachable personality and her technological access, makes her accessible to all, irrespective of locations (I'm in NZ and she's in the UK!).
I highly recommend Georgina. You will not go wrong here.
