How Far...

... will a car travel in 1/4 of an hour if it is going at 18 k/ph? How do I work this out please?

Start with the equation: distance = speed x time ...and remember that the units (what the quantities are measured in) must be the same on both sides of the equation. So we know what goes on the right hand side (using time in hours and speed in kilometres per hours) and can use that to work out the left hand side (distance in kilometres): distance = 1/4 x 18 = 18/4 = 9/2 = 4.5 km
