What is Hooke's law. I need to do coursework on it and im in yr 9. HELP!!!

Hooke's law describes how the extension of a spring is affected by the load applied to it. Often you will see it written as . Where is the displacment (how far it has extended from where it normally sits - the equilibrium), is the "spring constant" and is the restoring force exerted on the spring on the displaced end.
