I am an Oxford graduate who is dedicated to releasing your enthusiasm and academic potential.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
English as a Foreign Language
Having taught small groups of various nationalities, ages and levels, readying them for English Proficiency exams, I am well prepared to support your development. I can work to a specific exam or syllabus, or instead work towards a personal goal (such as developing your English language skills for a particular purpose, such as academic English). I can teach any level, and can use materials to suit your learning style, whether this be books and literature, film, music, traditional worksheets, or a combination of these.
GCSE and A-Level Tutoring
With a degree from Oxford and experience of secondary school teaching to various GCSE syllabuses, I can turn your GCSE and A-Level areas of weakness into areas of examination success! We can work together on specific topics, texts or modules. Or we can work on skills such as essay writing.
Oxbridge and University Interview Preparation
I have supported hundreds of applicants to develop their interview technique and have an in-depth knowledge of the Oxbridge requirements and system having studied at Oxford myself. I can offer you practice interviews for Oxford, Cambridge or other universities.
Academic Writing and Personal Statement Tuition
Got an essay that needs proof-reading? Want to develop skills to improve your academic writing? Want to make sure your personal statement truly reflects the high-quality applicant you are? Having written over 100 academic essays at undergraduate and masters level, and having marked countless pupils' GCSE mock papers, I can work with you to make essay and application writing enjoyable!
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I gained a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford. At Oxford I enjoyed engaging with a wide range of literature whilst considering key debates about the English language. I developed particular interests in modern African literature, Old English, and the debate about what aspects of English should be taught in schools.
