Every musician is different. I am here to help you find where music wants to take you and will guide you all the way as you explore your own musicianship.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach vocals, piano, keyboards, song writing and music theory. Whatever your reasons are for learning music, it is a very rewarding and satisfying experience. Current ability does not matter as long as you have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I began my music studies at North Glasgow College, Scotland in 2004 (specialising in Keyboards) at the tender age of 16. Here I studied under Ross Campbell (composer), Keith Burns (The Proclaimers), Ted McKenna (Sensational Alex Harvey Band) and Campbell Owens (Aztec Camera). I knew I wanted to be a musician even then and so once I passed my three-year HND course (winning the main year award for the first and third year) I progressed straight into year three at Napier University, Scotland, where I obtained a BA with Honours in Popular Music studying under Haftor Medboe, Graham Weir and Dr. Paul Ferguson.
- How much do you charge?
My current fees are as follows:
Individual Sessions: £35 per hour, £20 per half hour
Home tuition fees (at the student's home, only available in hourly sessions): £40 within ten miles
Block booking options available.
Full payment up front is required.
All lessons must be booked within 6 months.
- Where do you teach?
I teach from my home studio in Leyton, East London. I can also travel to Hackney, Stratford and Dalston areas to the student's house. I provide all my students with a learning file, where we plan what each session covers and the goal we are working towards (performance, recording, etc.). I also provide a variety of backing tracks varying from popular to musical style. I accompany students with piano and can also record students and my home studio with Apple's Logic.
- When are you available?
My teaching hours are from Monday to Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday 2-7pm.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach over 18's of all abilities.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I think it is important to always believe in yourself and remember that excellence is not a skill; It is an attitude.
Rosie is one of our best tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching music privately for over four years. It was during my time at University that I began teaching, most notably as course co-ordinator for the Music Monkeys After School Club. I had to devise, prepare and deliver each weekly session to a class of around eight 7-10 year olds. In 2007 I began gigging more intensively which saw me spend the next year and a half in Edinburgh working as a full time musician, composer and tutor. During this time I played all round the UK and internationally in venues such as The MUSON Centre, Lagos, Nigeria; Kokkola Conservatory, Finland; Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland; The Bedford, London, and many more.
I relocated to London in the September of 2010 in order to pursue my music work further. Being in London has always been a dream of mine and I am very passionate and determined to succeed in my career. I like to incorporate this drive into my lessons and pass on my experience of the industry to each of my clients. I am currently a frequent piano player and singer in many London establishments including The Melia White House Hotel, Marlybone; Montague on the Gardens, Russell Square; The Criterion Restaurant, Piccadilly; The Millennium Gloucester, South Kensington and The Novotel, Hammersmith.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I have an up-to-date enhanced CRB disclosure certificate.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Musician's Union.

Just thought I would let you know the good news that Jo has been accepted at the Brit School......so thanks very much again for all your help!
My Lesson with Rosie has really given me the tools to get my singing up to strength.
It has got me breathing properly and really relaxing into songs. Rosie is one of these people who puts you at ease during exercises and has really built up my confidence. Plus, and above all, it's really good fun!!
It's having a knock-on-effect in my life, I'm more aware of my body and my posture is better. This means less stress for me and no more sore jaw and back! Bonus!
