My teaching method is a simple process of assembling parts with the key principle of always making music. We take elements like rhythms and intervals (As well as technical features) that are simple in isolation and stretch the imagination by combining them. I believe in empirical learning; learning by doing and enjoying and so I will play and sing secondary lines with them whenever possible creating harmonies and then we switch.
I am a Cellist who has been giving private lessons to individuals and groups for a number of years now. As well as a degree from RAM in Cello performance I also have a teaching diploma from the Kodaly Institute in Hungary. The Kodaly method is used by the Benedetti foundation as the means of developing all the skills in music that aren’t related to technique and can really help with the enjoyment of playing; without which, progress of students is undoubtedly slow. Committed to sharing my passion with individuals I am taking the LRam teaching qualification at the moment and have a desire to really have the skill set to continue helping a variety of students.
