I give lessons to people of all ages and levels of ability.
I am a Postgraduate student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, having already graduated from the same conservatoire with a Clarinet Performance degree. I began my studies here at the age of 12 through the Junior Course.
Whether you want to go through ABRSM grades, need help with technique or repertoire, or just want to play for fun, I am more than happy to teach you! I can teach classical, jazz, pop, and even music theory.
My method is centred around tailored 1-to-1 sessions based on the needs of the student. I also have more structured lessons for beginners based around gradually getting to know the instrument, utilising books I myself used to learn the basics of the clarinet.
As a fluent Welsh speaker, I can offer lessons in Welsh or English.
I really want my students to get as much as they can out of my lessons - I am there to help!
I have been giving lessons for four years alongside my own undergraduate studies here in Cardiff. My younger students have gone on to perform in local and regional orchestras, and my adult students have gone on to make successful careers with their playing ability. I have never had a pupil of mine receive any lower than a distinction in any ABRSM exam!
